Marilyn Pipkin
Marilyn Pipkin received a BFA in Music/Music Ed. from Carnegie Mellon University, where she studied with George Grossman. She was a member of the Alabama Symphony from 1971 to 1993. From 1975-85 she pent summers teaching at the Symphony School of America in Wisconsin. From 1995 to 2005 she was a string teacher with the Birmingham, Alabama City Schools, and has been a faculty member of the Alabama School of Fine Arts Music Opportunity Program since 2005. In addition to her class teaching duties, Mrs. Pipkin teaches privately and maintains an active freelance schedule. She is a founding member of the Shades Creek Chamber Players, a string ensemble that performs regularly at weddings and other events.
