Michelle Parker

Michelle Parker is a violinist of 20 years and counting; beginning at age 5 through diligently pestering her parents for lessons, she has formed a lifelong love and passion for playing and teaching the violin.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Languages and Literature and French Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and continued her violin studies through participation in the university's music majors' orchestra until being pulled away by an injury. She has since worked very hard to come back to playing, and has been active again for the past year.

She is currently playing in a Chicago-based volunteer orchestra and teaching a small studio, as she holds a "normal" (whatever that means) office job during the week.

Teaching-wise, Michelle mostly focuses in classical technique and performance, as that's what she's been playing the longest and knows best, but also harbors a deep love of classic rock of 1960's and 70's that has influenced her playing style as well.
