Michael Gandlmayr

Hi, I'm currently a sophomore at Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music. I started violin at age 10 and was self taught until I was 14 when I began with a local teacher. I later studied with Marc Thayer, and am currently studying with Blair Milton at Northwestern University.

I grew up in St. Louis and was heavily involved in the music community there. I participated in the St. Louis All-Suburban Honors Orchestra, Missouri All-State Orchestra, and in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. I studied chamber music through Webster University's Pre-College Preparatory Program, a program designed for young musicians with aspirations to become professional musicians. I have attended the Innsbrook Institute for the past two summers under the direction of St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster David Halen, and Indiana University Summer String Academy under the direction of Mimi Zweig.

I am currently pursuing a music performance degree from Northwestern University.
