I have loved the violin for years, thought about learning to play the last few but dismissed it because I'm "too old", and the last time I tried to play an instrument was in middle school when I tried to play my friend's clarinet and it sounded much like a dying cat.

I turned 40 in November, and two weeks ago just started lessons. There is something deep within me that needs to get out, and the only way out is through the violin. I am totally and completely smitten and want more than anything to be able to play well. Not looking to join an orchestra or anything...just want to play because I almost feel I will die if I do not...like not being able to breathe.
