Jeanne Majors

I teach both violin and viola to students of all ages & abilities, and specialize in developing intermediate students and coaching adults. I encourage all students to play duets and other chamber music in addition to solo repertoire. Some of them also participate in the district festival of the Florida Federation of Music Clubs. I served on the faculty at Brevard Music Center for ten years and have been a member of ASTA with NSOA since 1971.

In 2001 I founded Prelude Chamber Music, Inc. with two symphony colleagues. We offer a 2-week summer camp for all ages & abilities with outstanding faculty and performances. During the year we present weekend workshops for adults, sponsor master classes, and provide extra coaching in some of the area schools.

I served as Principal 2nd Violin for most of the 49 years I have played in the Jacksonville (Florida)Symphony Orchestra. I now continue to play in the section. I also perform chamber music and solo works and contract special music events for area churches.
