I am a violinist and violin teacher who has a lifelong passion for music, teaching, and learning. I have a thriving studio of 30 in Seattle and perform as a chamber musician and with the Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra. I earned my Bachelor's in Violin Performance from Western Washington University. My interest in teaching and learning led me to graduate school at the University of Washington, where I completed a Masters in Educational Psychology. For my masters thesis, I filmed myself teaching three students over three years, looking for ways that teacher-student interaction helped the kids become self-regulated learners. I have studied Suzuki Pedagogy with Cathy Lee and Teri Einfeldt and traditional pedagogy with Margaret Pressley. I feel fortunate to be a part of Seattle's amazing music education community and have amazing colleagues! I serve as a board member for the Suzuki Association of Washington State Festival and the Seattle Young Artists Festival, making the schedule for both of these annual events. When I'm not playing or teaching, I love riding my mountain bike and climbing with my husband, Jon.
