hey, I'm kay and I absolutely adore violin. Living in New York City, it's kinda hard to avoid going to classical concerts and that's how I was hooked onto music. My first instrument was piano and one day, while I was practicing a specific piece, she took out her violin and accomanpanied me. I loved the sweet sound and the high notes and most importantly, the way it made me feel. That summer, I went out and bought my own violin and got a teacher. It's now 2 years later and I've still only had 12 lessons. (bummer) However, in that time, I've learned enough for my teacher to say I was ready to play in our school orchestra. I was the only one there who had not a complete year of experience, yet alone years. My biggest goal is to someday get into a conservatory, perhaps, Julliard even. There's a lot of discouragment about starting the violin at a late age and I would just like to remind them that true talent comes not from years of experience, but from passion.
