Emily Kam

Emily Kam is a homeschooled senior whose first love is music. She began her violin studies at the age of six, but later discovered her "voice" in the viola and made the switch three years ago.

Currently she is a violist in the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra and a scholarship student of Jodi Levitz at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College. In addition, Emily is a music teacher at the San Francisco City Academy, serves as a quartet coach for the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, and enjoys finding ways to inspire and challenge her students in her private piano studio. Emily is the co-founder and director of Young Musicians Workshop, a summer chamber music camp for budding musicians, with all tuition donated to poverty alleviation in East Asia.
