Elise Goodman

The grandniece of jazz great Benny Goodman, Ms. Elise Goodman graduated from the Juilliard School where she studied with Robert Mann and Dorothy DeLay after earlier training with Robert Lipsett at the Colburn School for the Performing Arts. At the age of ten, she began to be frequently featured on national television in telethons, as a guest on network talk shows, and on the Disney Channel. Ms. Goodman's solo, recital and chamber music performances have taken her to venues throughout the United States and Europe including the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie's Weill Hall, Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, the Mendelssohn-Salle of the Gewandhaus, and the Concertgebouw.

An avid chamber musician, Ms. Goodman has performed at festivals such as the Ravinia Festival's Institute for Young Artists, the Spoleto Festival due Dei Mondi, the New York String Seminar and the Schleswig Holstein, Utah and Aspen Music Festivals. She has been coached in the chamber music repertoire by musicians such as Felix Galimir, Leon Fleischer, Pamela Frank and Jascha Brodsky along with having collaborated with members of the Chicago and Philadelphia Orchestras as well as the Cleveland and the Miami Quartets. Before attending Juilliard, Ms. Goodman was also a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.

Devoted to the nurturance of the next generation of musical talent, Ms. Goodman’s students have been garnering attention of their own. Several have gone on to win competitions, solo with orchestras, play at MTAC Conventions and partake extensively in chamber music through the Junior Chamber Music program, the Conejo branch of which she directed for 5 years along with her current co-directorship of the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic’s Appassionata Strings Masterclasses program.
