I picked up my violin again in May 2009, after about ten years since my last lesson in my late teens. I fit practicing in around many other commitments but manage to do 30-60 minutes most days.

I enjoy playing because it's a challenge that doesn't involve anyone else - no teamwork, no management, no delegation, no responsibility - which makes a refreshing change from the rest of life.

I'm aiming to get back to the advanced amateur standard I had when I gave up - able to make a go of the Bruch concerto or some unaccompanied Bach. Perhaps in several years I will get back there.
