Charlie Gibbs
I studied cornet from age 8-17, guitar starting 1995, bluegrass mandolin starting 2002. A friend gave me a violin in 2008; I tried fiddling a bit, then decided to get serious and started classical lessons in November 2009. In 2012 I was handed a viola and told to learn it so I could play in a local orchestra that needed violists (see
The Accidental Violist).
I have a good ear and knowledge of music theory. The violin is the most difficult of the instruments I've tried, but I'm having a lot of fun playing classical music with friends (and bluegrass with other friends).
