I played violin as a child, then gave it up for quite a while until watching a quartet play Haydn about two years ago. I thought to myself, "I wish I could play the violin," then realized that I could! Not a fraction as well as anyone on stage, but well enough to enjoy the experience and add something to my life.
I found a teacher and have recently joined an amateur orchestra; it is wonderful to play with other people.
In my non-musical life I am a public interest lawyer in NYC, run for fun (and fitness), and am partial to old films.
