Anna Ventura

Anna Ventura began her journey of violin playing at a public school strings program in Puerto Rico. She graduated from Escuela Libre de Musica high school and attended the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, where she majored in violin performance and studied with renowned violinists Jaime Medina and Jose “Pepito” Figueroa. She transferred to the University of Miami in Coral Gables during her sophomore year, and studied under the tutelage of Violin Professor Glenn Basham until she completed her BA degree in 1996.

Mrs. Ventura has performed with The Miami Symphony, The Palm Beach Pops, Epcot Center’s All American College Orchestra, and Symphony of the Americas, among others.

With her company, Eleganza Strings, she books string ensembles for concerts, recordings, and events all over south Florida.

Anna was a Miami Dade County Middle School orchestra teacher for 6 years, until her first child was born. She has since then taught privately from her home studio, as well as coached strings classes at various area schools and conservatories.

In addition to her University of Miami degree, Mrs. Ventura completed her music education courses at Florida International University and has been an actively certified Dade County K-12 music teacher since 1999. A member of the American String Teachers Association, she has attended Suzuki Method summer institutes and teacher training courses for books 1-4, as well as the O'Connor method for books 1 and 2. Anna believes in offering her students a well-rounded musical education that includes ear training, sight-reading skills, and exposure to different styles of music, alongside the encouraging and positive approach that is at the heart of the Suzuki method.
