I fell in love with an old Czech viola about eight years ago. I took lessons for three years, then had to move to a different town. I am still looking for a teacher willing to take on a maverick mostly self-taught from ViolinLab.com and You Tube videos.
I find that for me, at over age 70, learning has meant frequently revisiting the fundamentals and a slow conquest of new territory. I play classical at not quite Suzuki book 5 level, and Scottish fiddle music for fun and gaining facility.
