I started taking classical violin lessons at the age of 5 and continued until I was 14, then took a break. I have ventured into learning many instruments including the mandolin, harmonica, bagpipes, and many forms of hand percussion, but have come back to the bow. Though I do still play classical music, I mostly enjoy Celtic fiddle style. I play upright bass, didgeridoo, and violin with the Possum Ridge String Band.

I'm also working on other music projects.
Since a 4/4 feels too tiny with my huge fingers, I have adapted to playing a 16.5 size 5-string viola, low to high CGDAE.
I feel the G has better tension on this longer scale length and the larger body gives more depth of tone to the shrill of the E-string.
