I studied violin for a couple years as a pre-teen/teen until life got in the way, and my violin was taken from me. I never could leave music behind, though. Through high school, I sang four years in choir and played three years in the handbell choir. When I was in college, I'd sneak into the music department's practice rooms to get onto the pianos (I had taken almost a year of piano lessons from my violin teacher before we parted ways). (Unfortunately there were never any violins lying around.)
In 2014 I started again after not having touched a violin for more than three decades, and I'm so happy that I did.
