Adult student living in the US who has loved the violin since a child but now finally has the opportunity to realize my dream. My pursuit is strictly for my pleasure of the instrument, not to perform for others. I'm currently in my third year of my aspirations to be a violinist. I am also learning music in conjunction with my violin lessons.

I'm currently more adept at caring for a violin than playing it as I worked several years for a luthier while in college but by no measure even approaching the experience of an apprentice luthier, just enough to be marginally dangerous.
