As a senior citizen, I hope to be a late bloomer regarding the violin. I have always had a fascination with this instrument and am finally in a time of life where I can begin to study it. I currently own a very poor quality violin but hope to progress to the point, through practice and discipline, where I might be considered worthy of a more mature instrument. I already understand that violins are living creatures; let the romancing begin!

Update, 31 Oct 2011: Well, I have been practicing my luthier skills. The poor quality instrument sounds *much* better now! I have also purchased an Acoustic Silent Violin from Old Violin House (*very* interesting, and recommended, instrument!) and am beginning to make good progress.

Seeking older violins in need of repair; I hope to place them with local students after repairing them.
