I began playing in the third grade. I was fascinated by the instrument. I have always regretted quiting orchestra after middle school. I thought I was finished with the instrument.

Over the years it has called me back at different times. During my thirties I was playing every night for 2 or 3 hours because it was something constructive I liked to do while being an insomniac.

Four years ago I mostly stopped again while I went to graduate school to become a professional librarian. I got my MLIS and here a year later I have my first professional position.

At this time I am reading a lot about technique and working in time in the evenings to play the violin.
