Perry has been a violin teacher, viola teacher and piano teacher for 40 years, Chair of String Department for 10 years as well as Conductor of the String Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra and Choir. Perry holds Bachelor of Music Degree (B Mus) Majoring in Pedagogy and Performance at the Yerevan Conservatory Pedagogical Institute.

During those years Perry gained vast knowledge and skills from many awarded teachers. She was accepted into Prof. Armen Hovhannisyan’s class who was a student of highly respected and awarded teacher in USSR Prof. H. Bogdanyan.

She also studied with Prof. Hrachia Harutunyan who was a student of Prof. Leonid Kogan (USSR), prize-winner of H. Wieniawski International Competition in Poland and Chair of String Department at the Conservatorium of Music in Yerevan.

After Mrs Tonoyan completed her Degree she pursued her career in teaching violin/viola and piano which was her long sought after passion. During studying in the Conservatory Pedagogical Institute, she has been learning Violin major and Piano as a compulsory instrument. In 1998 Mrs P. Minasyan was recognised for her knowledge, skills and dedication and received an Honourable Award for Highly productive and Successful Teaching in Yerevan – Armenia.

In 2008 Galstaun College “Nanor” Choir received an “Excellent Performance” award from Sydney Cultural and Educational Society.

In 2010 “Nanor” Choir received a 1st price award in Armenian Performing Art Award Program. Mrs P. Tonoyan has held the position of Chair of String department at the Music School in Armenia, Yerevan.

Since 1979 Mrs Minasyan has worked extensively as a Violin teacher, Viola Teacher and Piano Teacher, Conductor of the String Ensemble (Junior and Senior) and Conductor of the Choir. Mrs Tonoyan also has vast experience preparing students for AMEB exams from Preliminary to the highest level as well as HSC, Diploma and Bachelor Degrees. Many of Mrs Tonoyan’s pupils took up a music career entering Higher Educational Institutions and Universities such as Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Australian Institute of Music.

Mrs Tonoyan is appointed as a Violin /Viola and Piano teacher at the Australian Institute of Music, Violin teacher and Conductor of the String Ensemble at the Lindfield Public School , Hunters Hill Public School, piano teacher in West Ryde at Decibel Music School and Music Teacher ( K-6), Violin Teacher, String Ensemble Conductor , Conductor of “Nanor” Choir (y K-6) at Galstaun Independent College K-12.

Mrs Minasyan’s enthusiasm and creative nature gave her another bright idea to create an Instrumental program at Galstaun College. The program gives students an opportunity to learn a number of instruments, play as an ensemble and create an orchestra and band for the future.

Mrs Tonoyan joins Armenian Performing Art Award Program In 2010 to take up the position of Head of Jury. She brings with her 40 years of experience in the music industry having worked with music schools, specialized in classical music, Public and Independent schools, in tertiary and international music education and as an advisor to the Musical programs and String department.

The years of experiment, careful observations in teaching made me grow as a teacher and artist. After learning from wonderful teachers I have gained major knowledge and understanding of the art of teaching by analysing the reasons and purposes of their methods, ways of teaching and approaches.

With a vast level of experience and education, Perry encourages students’ ability and appreciation of the music through teaching instruments, theory, history and practical skills.

Perry strives for all her students to attain excellence in music during their schooling and thereafter.
