Christopher Brooks

Christopher Brooks has performed professionally on the violin since the late 60’s and has been teaching since the early 70’s. His creative and individualist approach to teaching is deep rooted in the classical tradition, traceable back through Jascha Brodsky and Eugene Ysaÿe to the great Italian Virtuoso, Archangelo Corelli. In addition to his broad experience in orchestral and chamber music, he has performed with numerous improvisation-based ensembles: including folk, rock, jazz, Klezmer, and freely-improvised accompaniments for modern dance.
His book, The Creative Violinist, Integrating Technique and Music Through Improvisation, is due to be published in the spring of 2013.
