I learned the violin at school, but gave up in my teens. I always had a hankering to return, and finally I did so, in retirement. I've been playing for nine years now, and after enjoying myself with baroque, early music & klezmer, I have settled on folk music, which is my true love - especially Scottish Fiddle Music of the Golden Age (18th century) - the likes of Niel Gow, Robert Mackintosh and William Marshall.
But Playford comes a close second!
My fiddle my joy.
