My first teacher, with whom I studied from the age of 6 to 17, had been an assistant to the great pedagogue, Leopold Auer. I received my Bachelor's degree in music/violin performance, and for the next 50 years, have played in several professional symphonies, taught violin in my own private studio, attended ASTA workshops, in America, Italy, Switzerland, and have taken numerous Suzuki Teacher Training classes. I believe I have gleaned the best from both worlds, thus developing my own philosophy of teaching, which I have put into my method books, entitled ONE STEP AT A TIME. These books are described on my web site. Many of my students have gone on to play in professional symphonies and/or have their own private studios. I welcome discussions on any subject pertaining to teaching the violin to students of any age.

I am also a wife, a mother of three, and grandmother of nine.
