Richard Quick

Richard studied at the Royal College of Music in London with Hugh Bean, where he won no prizes at all, before joining the Bournemouth ( England) SO, who actually paid him for playing the Violin. He then freelanced in 'The Big Smoke' (England) for a few years, where his luck held and many other orchestras including the Philharmonia and the RPO continued paying him for playing the violin. As his family grew, he decided to call time on travelling abroad at a moments notice (exciting though it was) and was lucky enough to be appointed to an excellent teaching job as Head of Strings at Hymers College in Hull ( England). Still loving life, the violin and everything, and wondering how he reached his mid fifties, he is still in as little demand as a player and teacher as he ever was.
