Kevin Yu was most recently the Principal violinist of the Masters Sinfonia in San Francisco. Growing up in Dallas, he was the Concertmaster of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra (GDYO) and a three time All-State member. He has served as the Concertmaster of the UT Austin Symphony as well as the Principal of the Las Colinas Symphony. Kevin has been a soloist at the Cannes Music Festival, FIFA World Cup and has shared the stage with Herman’s Hermits, Three Dog Night, Brave Combo, and Wayne Newton. His mentors include Emmanuel Borok, Michael Selman, and Vincent Frittelli. Today, he maintains a studio of talented young violinists. In his spare time, he enjoys international travel and has journeyed down the Nile as well as the Amazon River. After the Asian tsunami, his deployment of a foreign aid platform across India led to the Rotary International Service Award. In 2011, he was designated a Marshall Fellow by the German Marshall Fund. Kevin is a graduate of UT Austin and resides in Dallas, Texas.
