Anne McKinley
I first started playing violin in elementary school. My serious involvement started when Dr. Robert Snyder (Memphis, Tenn.) said, "I only take students who love the violin. Do you love the violin?" I said, "Yes," without really thinking it through, and I have since studied violin playing and making (Paul Schuback, Portland), married a violin maker (Donald McKinley), repaired bowed instruments (Metzler Violin Shop), started a chamber music group (Pasadena Strings), and a music arrangement website (ViolinandCello.com). I enjoy playing with my church chamber orchestra (Bel Air Pres.) and now Don and I and our son-in-law, Ben, have launched an American violin making company (M Violins). I guess I really do love the violin!
