I began playing violin at age 47 when my daughter was studying in a Suzuki program, and I fell in love with the instrument. Perhaps partly because of my age, I decided not to study classically -- instead I began playing by ear while listening to favorite jazz albums.
Over the years my playing has been improving and now I'm trying to firm up some fundamental skills. My ear training is pretty good, but I'm working on bowing now and trying to develop a more consistent level of playing.
When I'm not playing, I'm a visual artist.
