Chris Keener

I have been playing the violin for 13 years. I played in the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra for 6 years, and was involved with the Ohio All State and Regional orchestra throughout all of high school. I have auditioned into and been accepted into music camps that include working with international soloists Solomiya Ivakhiv, Raúl Tráver, and Oleh Krysa, as well as full orchestral and chamber music experience. I am currently a Violin Performance major at Ohio University in Athens Ohio. I have been studying with Dr. Solomiya Ivakhiv (a graduate of the same class as Hilary Hahn at Curtis) and am currently studying with David Niwa of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. I greatly enjoy lessons locally for beginners up through amateurs of any age. If you have questions and/or are interested in lessons then do not hesitate to give me call at 614-519-6226 or shoot me an email at
I would be honored to help you learn to love this beautiful instrument as much as I do!
For those wondering, this is a picture from Philmont Scout Ranch. I found fellow violin player on a hiking trip who shared their instrument with me so that I could play for everyone at the campsite.
