Have you ever played your violin in a talent show? This young man has, and is this cool or what? He used Adam DeGraff's violin version of "Stairway to Heaven" as a starting point. Since the music has not been printed, he must have learned it by ear to play in his high school's talent show:
A gentleman on Facebook identified him for me, "That's Peter, a high school sophomore in Carmel, Calif. He has Violinist.com as his browser home page... and heard this arrangement of Stairway on the Dueling Fiddlers 'Rock Violin' album, thanks to that album being mentioned as a Violinist.com favorite for 2010! He's active in the chamber music program of the local Youth Orchestra , and also plays in the Carmel Strings, a semipro gigging quartet."
So I can answer "yes," that some years ago I did play in my school's talent show. I did not quite get this reception! Kudos to Peter, for giving such a nice live performance and developing versatility in his playing.
Cheers,
Adam
