I had Georgia All-State first round auditions for 9-10 grade. I passed it, like I expected. I just have to worry about my next one... the excerpt are hard. The pieces they are from are:"Three Dances from the Bartered Bride" by Smetna
"Russian Sailor's Dance" by Rimsky-Korsakov
"Mazepa from Cossack Dance" by Tchaikovsky
I'll have a heck of a time learning them. I also went out and bought Bach's Six Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin. They are a LOT of fun. I'm still working on the first Sonata. I'm surpirsed that it is so much fun to learn technical stuff... I kinda expected it to be boring.
