I did it! The right way!

June 6, 2009 07:06

I posted some time back that I had started with a new teacher as my previous teachers schedule changed.  I was well in to Suzuki book two and thought I was doing well.  My new teacher discussed this with me, and promptly  took me back to basics in Suzuki book 1.  Apparently I was just being allowed to move through the books after having learned the "songs".  She said they were fundamentals and like anything, if you don't have those mastered, nothing else matters.  So she promptly too me all the way back to Twinkle!  I told her what ever it takes, my ego isn't that fragile, so lets go!

Well, that was in September 2008 and this week, I completed, properly mind, my Suzuki one book and have been graduated to book two!

I am very proud that I did it the right way making the recordings of each piece and ensuring that fundamentals of each piece were accurate before moving to the next.  Now, in book two, I'm having much more fun and my technique is accurate.  My teacher is pushing me hard, and I have come farther than I thought I could go.

Life is good!
