I am still reeling from hearing Jennifer Koh play the Beethoven in a large all wood "barn" like structure at Chautauqua in Boulder CO. She was awesome. I have heard the Beethoven in many halls including Carnegie, San Francisco, Denver, etc. But I had a front row seat and I have never really heard it in the way I did last Sunday night. I also heard the Pastoral 6th. Unbelievable. Somehow wood instruments and wood barns go together.
Thank the Lord above for the kreisler cadenza. I love those minutes of Heaven.
Koh's playing and Strad were wonderful. Never been so close to a real Strad.
May see the 9th on Sunday.
Life is Good.
