New York Philharmonic Invites Musicians to Join Practice 30 Challenge

July 29, 2020, 4:52 PM · Do you need some motivation to practice in the waning days of summer? Do you need some encouragement to keep going during this socially isolating coronavirus pandemic?

Also, are you a little bit of an exhibitionist?

Because the New York Philharmonic just posted an amusing video urging musicians to take the challenge and practice for 30 straight days, starting August 1 -- and to post your practice videos on social media, using #Practice30. The NY Philharmonic will then share their favorites on its social media channels.

Check out the video, which features drag queen violinist Thorgy Thor, NY Phil flutist Alison Fierst, and NY Phil horn player Leelanee Sterrett:

The NY Philharmonic is calling this their "Practice 30 Challenge," and they promise to keep us all going by posting practice tips and motivational videos on their social media channels, featuring NY Phil musicians and special guests such as Jennifer Koh, the Miró Quartet, Alisa Weilerstein, Drew Forde (ThatViolaKid), Wu Man, and more.
