If you love John Corigliano’ Red Violin Caprices from the Oscar-winning "Red Violin" movie score, then here is a real treat: Philippe Quint has teamed up with Joffrey Ballet dancers Christine Rocas and Rory Hohenstein to create a music and dance video. The film is directed by Tim Whalen of Chicago's based"I have long been performing John Corigliano’s works and his brilliant Red Violin Caprices in particular," Quint said. "Ever since I made the world premiere recording of the Caprices some years ago, I have felt that these incredibly theatrical and dramatic pieces would make a fantastic ballet. My dream finally came true and I am extremely grateful to Mr. Tim Whalen and Chicago’s Big Foot Media for taking on this project and creating beautiful cinematography around it. I also want to express special thanks to Stradivari Society of Chicago for the loan of the magnificent 1708 “Ruby” Antonio Stradivari violin featured in the video."
This is not Quint's first project like this; in Feb. 2016 he created Valse Triste, a short film that premiered at 14 Film Festivals worldwide, winning the Best Music Video category at the Nevada International Film Festival. Valse Triste also featured Rocas.
