See Hilary Hahn with the LA Phil this weekend

December 9, 2015, 12:22 PM · I'm thrilled to be doing a book signing that just so happens to coincide with a wonderful concert: Hilary Hahn's performance this week of the Vieuxtemps Violin Concerto No. 4 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Disney Hall.

I'm very much looking forward to hearing the piece that Hilary said is "so gorgeous. It's written so well for the violin, and it's a pleasure to play. The orchestra part is really colorful, too, so when you're playing it live with orchestra, it's just so vivid."

And if you are at this concert, come see me! On Friday and Saturday, I'll be at the LA Phil Book Store, selling and signing copies of my book, Violinist.com Interviews, Vol. 1, for which Hilary wrote the foreword. On Thursday I'll be attending the performance -- no official book signing that day, though the books will be in the store and if you see me I'll still sign it for you!

It's been a very big year for Hilary: After accepting her Grammy in February for In 27 Pieces: the Hilary Hahn Encores, she released a new recording of Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 5/Vieuxtemps: Violin Concerto No. 4 (the same one she's playing this weekend) in the spring. Then she became a new mom in August, when she welcomed her daughter, Zelda, into the world!

In case you are in LA and still need tickets: here is the link to get tickets for Thursday, Friday or Saturday. (For Thursday night's concert, you can bring a friend for free by using the code BringAFriend when buying a ticket)

Other works on the concert are The Golden Key, a piece by Mieczyslaw Weinberg, and also the much-beloved (or at least much-beloved by me) Symphony No. 4 by Tchaikovsky. What a treat! Hope to see you there!
