neck angle and temperature/humidity changes

What exactly happens to the neck angle with seasonal changes? I live in the Northeast US, with hot damp summers and cold dry winters. The neck angle on my violins change with the seasons, but I'm not sure exactly how, and more importantly when this occurs. Does the wood typically expand in summer, lowering the neck angle, and retract in winter raising the angle, or does it take a few months, or maybe a season to respond to these changes? Should I cut a new bridge every 6 months? If action is too high now, should I wait for spring or change bridges now?
