Last Saturday, I had a great musical high: playing "The Blue Danube" by Johann Strauß (some say it's Austria's secret national anthem) with a full symphony orchestra. My stand partner and I were the only two violas. Johannes Klumpp, as usual, did a superb job of directing, coaching and coaxing and at the end of the two hour session, we achieved a plausible (if not flawless) rendition. Henceforth, I'm gonna see and hear the New Year's Concert of Vienna Philharmonic differently.
Bravo!
