Last friday I heard the Dutch Jazz String Quartet Zapp 4 in Amsterdam. They jammed with a guitarist and a cimbalist. Here a piece from their cd Passaggio from 2005. There is also a live version of the same piece hereunder. Just something different from jazz-violinists like Jean-Luc Ponty, Jerry Goodman or Stephan Graphelli, specially because it is a string Quartet.
