Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) wrote 4 violin concerto's. The 2th is lost. Here the 1st + 4th form the Hoboken catalogue:
I've played the first movements of both of these. Great pieces.
Interesting.
The G major was the first concerto I ever played and was published as No. 2. In those days, there were only 2 known - C major and G major.
