The Rumanian Andrei Serban http://www.andrei-serban.nl/ made arrangements for stringorchestra. After 4 rehearsals with him we gave a concert with our amateurorchestra Tollens Ensemble http://www.tollensensemble.nl/ After 4 rehearsals with him we gave a concert with our amateurorchestra Tollens Ensemble: He is difficult to follow, because in every bar the tempo changes. He made a suite of 10 gypsy and folk pieces of different area's in Rumania. We also play a 7/16 th bar. I thought that would be Turkish influence and that was true. After the discovery of Porumbescu Balada + Hejre Kati of Jeno Hubay (the name of my blog) some years ago I got the unreal chance to play these rare pieces once in my life.
This is absolutely beautiful music, and of course, absolutely beautifully played!
Thank you for sharing!
Hi. Thanks for posting. Andrei Serban plays beautifully. Can you provide a little more information about him and the orchestra?
Thanks.
