I thought it was in 2006 that I heard the beautiful violinconcerto of Joseph Joachim in Doelen in Rotterdam. The chance is not so big that I will ever hear another favorite of me in the Concerthall once in my life: The 1th of Dohnanyi. Here you can hear it with the sheetmusic:
DOHNANYI, Ernst von 1 mvt1(begin)
mvt1(end)
mvt2
mvt3+4(begin)
mvt4(end)
JOACHIM, Joseph (1831-1907) 2th
mvt1(begin)
2th mvt1(middle)
2th mvt1(end)
2th mvt2
2th mvt3
DOHNANYI, Ernst von 1
mvt1(begin)
mvt1(end)
mvt2
mvt3+4(begin)
mvt4(end)
Just loved the Dohnanyi - I'd never heard it before. Lovely. Listened to it all the way through. Looking forward to doing the same with the Joachim.
