October 5, 2007 at 10:57 AM

Dutch designers Viktor & Rolf have made dresses with violins in it.
A friend sent me this link.

Those fiddles look just like the paper violins my first-graders are coloring this week to paste onto egg cartons. They should have had my kids color them!

I've provided the link so everyone can print these out and pin them to their clothing.

Do the dresses come with shoulder rests, or are those purchased through the accessory line?

wow - that's kind of the most retarded stuff I've ever seen on the runway... although I have to say, the first dress is kinda hot... over all, though, I think I prefer my violin under my chin. not glued to the bodice of my dress in a ridiculous fashion (no pun intended!)

The last one is good casual Friday attire at Deutsche Grammophone.

I'm especially impressed with the one with one violin poking out over each shoulder. You could bump into a lot of things wearing that dress. The one with the high pink cuff around the neck is also quite impressive. It could be a lethal weapon -- death by strangulation.

Laurie, I'm sure your students will all make beautiful creations. They can't help it. They've got a great teacher.
