I have a rehearsal today for the Handel-Halvorsen. I wrote the part out for myself the first time around because I couldn't find the viola part and consequently, transposed most of it an octave higher then the regularly performed part. So I learned it all wrong. That's o.k., though, because it sounds less-nasty in that regester.
I love the C string!!!
I'm listening to Wozzeck. Not so sure if that is what I need 5 minutes after rolling out of bed on a Sunday. K. Vitali Chaconne..much better. David Oistrakh. Now I need to make some tea or coffee and I'll be set. The cat has taken to waking me with full facials in the morning so I'll feed her. I keep telling her she won't starve, I fed her before retireing...but then she just licks or bites my earlobes.
You know I like it, though.
Trying not to get an injury, what with the double time practicing and larger instrument. I'm taking viola lessons to make sure I play with proper viola technique, but it is still a feat for the body, even if I do sit down to practice.
I found my Fishman pickup when we moved!!! Yay!!
