Wow. I have been on another planet for awhile and not kept up with V.Com. I have to say that I will be this way for awhile. My written comps are the 30th, my recital the 21st of Nov. and my orals sometime after that. I think. So I'm going a little bonkers trying to keep the rest of my life in order. I lost perspective last night when I was all wound up and not making good judgements and told my conductor that I wanted to quit orchestra. That comment was loaded. Had to do with more than just "orchestra". I can't believe I let myself slide like that. I've appologised for acting like a petulant child combined with an out of control adult and letting my sensitivities and, whatever else get me beyond upset. I hope things smoothe over. She was really cool about it, took it in stride. But I am embarrassed and feel like a jerk. Note to self. CHILL OUT! k. Off to practice and teach.

Today I've been playing the Ysaye with a metronome via teacher's orders. It is so much harder that way. I've been playing this piece forever and realized that I'm faking a lot of it without knowing. I mean, I think I had it learned and then at some point it turned into faking and now I have to learn it all over again. Grrr. Trying not to zone out while doing it. Why does quarter note equals 96 seem so fast for this piece? Maybe it is a time perception thing. Or tired perception thing. Or zoned out perception thing. ANyhow. Later guys.

Creative process....hm...my day seems to create itself. Is that a process? Whatever. The performance went well, though I chickened out on the ending. But I was pretty much in control. THat was the main thing I was concerned about. I have a rehearsal for the Beethoven on Sunday. We were going to do it THursday but were both falling asleep and grouchy by 5:30 after full days of teaching adn practicing and playing and doing stuff. So Sunday should be more refreshed.

So I didn't sleep well last night. GOt up this morning shaking like a leaf. Took my medications combined with about a half an hour of muted practice in the bedroom to try to play some nerves out. I hope this goes well.

Today was one of those days where I was playing violin all day long...and by the time it got to my 5:30 rehearsal with my pianist, I was beat. I love days like this, but I didn't want to have our first rehearsal after such a day and being so tired. He was falling asleep talking to me as well, so it would have been a waste of time and money. We rescheduled for Sunday night. THat way we'll be rested. I perform two movements of the Bach tomorrow. The Loure and the Rondeau et Gavotte. For a general recital for students and faculty. I'm trying to keep myself calm. I played them today in my lesson and they went really well. I know I can play them decently, lets just hope that I don't get shaky or terribly nervous. Very productive lesson today. Fun Camerata rehearsal. Tedious work with our conductor on the Wagner and Zampa...with metronome and piano. For an hour and a half. Think some things were really learned, though. Killed my brain cells! I just got home and now I'm studying. Comps are coming up on the 30th. Stopped at STarbucks and got two shots of espresso in a large coffee to keep me going for at least a few more hours. (jennifer starts to snore and head falls on the keyboard....daksd;rsdfkjdksla;fjds dskalf jfkaslkdasf). Things are looking very good these days. Positive. I'm grateful for that! Later gators.
