In this video, I discuss the positions on the violin and how to find the positions. I also talk about how some positions read like other positions but on different strings. In this video, I discuss an excellent daily warm up to practice the positions. Take the 30 day challenge and let me know how it affects your playing?
Basic breakdown of exercise
123, 234, 132, 243, 4343 lifting fingers
Also practice starting from seventh position going to first position.
Enjoy and Happy Practicing:)

I find position review practice very important and give attention to it every day. During a 4-day blackout, April 2011, following a tornado outbreak, I had to play each evening session in near-total darkness. All the interval training and position shifting drills I'd gone through as a kid really paid off -- and still do.
A pity that so many good blogs like this get shoved off the front page so fast as new entries get published -- it looks as though only four will fit on page 1.
