So, many of us own the Bobelock hard shell case for our violin or viola, in my opinion and experience, the best cases made for our instruments. I recently bought another one for a violin I recently purchased, and this time I decided to keep the padded jacket over the case so it would not get all scratched up... and more importantly, the padded cover offers even more protection for the instrument in extra insulation and shock absorption if one is to accidentally drop it. However, it was driving me crazy every time I got my fiddle out, that the padded cover would slip off completely. causing me to have to refit the cover, yada yada, yada. My solution? VELCRO. OK, this is not rocket science, but for all of you violinists and violists out there who want to solve the problem of keeping your padded jacket attached to your hard shell Bobelock case - here's the trick...
Go to your nearest Home Depot, buy four packs of the Velcro
2" by 4" strips (there are two strips in each pack)
The rest is cake... peel off the back of the Velcro strips
and attach to the bottom of the case (and on the top if you want that secure) and the inside of the padded cover (lined up of course) Ta Da... Works like a champ. Greg :)
