Progress notes

It's been four years since I stepped into my very first violin teachers studio. There were good and bad times. There were times I got lazy and didn't want to practice, and it will last for months. One thing that I stick with is playing with my amateur orchestra. Being surrounded by good players, all making music together just makes me a happier person.

Being a later starter, I realize the difficulty and challenges ahead of me, but I know I will overcome them.

I have a new teacher now and she has a very different approach. She likes me to work on all 3 movements of a concerto at once (Bach a minor). She also wanted me to start on de beriot to get a flavor for different style (done accolay already).

Some of frustrations I still have is the inability to play fast. No matter how much I practice, hooked method recommended by buri, dotted rhythm, going fast by metronome little by little.

My double too kind of sucks too!!

And I cannot play fast appregios for the life of me.

My vibrato still sucks.

However, I'm proud of my progress. My sight reading is getting better. I play first violin in my orchestra and I never felt like I'm worse than other people in my section, of course with a few exceptions.

I will continue to work hard. One day. I will be able to play Mendelssohn
