Stimulated by Laurie's blog on American composers, I want to remind readers and violinists of the great wealth of songwriters from within our shores. These popular wonderful songs can sound terrific on the violin.... I suggest as part of your practice sessions to chose one of your favorite tunes and play it, as your feel it, on your instrument. Once you are comfortable and happy with your little performance, transition your simple casualness to a classical piece that you have been working on. You may be pleasantly surprised at the sudden elegance that you have attained... As an example of popular music as performed on violin, I invite you to visit my website: http://www.dreamviolin.comThis entry has been archived and is no longer accepting comments.
