Pop Violinists -- Katica Illenyi

March 15, 2015 20:51

There are a number of young violinists/fiddlers who are trying to make a mark in the popular world.

I am a fan of total package musicians who have fantastic techniques and impeccable musicianship and above all restraint and taste.

My favorite is Katica Illenyi. Here are a few of my favorites:

She plays in a huge variety of styles:

She plays virtuoso licks with ease (and she sings)

She plays old favorites:

She dances:

She plays the theremin:

And she comes from a family of virtuoso musicians:

Here she is with her two brothers and sister:

She is the total package of talent, hard work, character, charm, etc. She is definitely someone aspiring popular musicians should look up to.
