A short entry but I have been trying to figure out the name of the Beethoven quartet that Heifetz coaches (on video) in his master class (he plays 1st violin in opus 18. No. 5 but only coaches the other one) so I started googling and came across the blog Magic Moments of violinist and pedagogue Marjorie Kransberg-Talvi. This is a delightful blog and includes Youtubes of her fine playing. I appreciate her astute observations on the state of the arts. Take a look.In the meantime , embarrassed that I don't know all the Beethoven quartets by hearing, I will take any tips.
Best way to approach it is from the very first entry and then proceed to the subsequent ones via the 'newer post' link at the bottom. This way you start from the beginning of her story
My brother continues to study with the pianist she mentions in her blog, Randolphe Hokanson.
